About time Canada did something and said we will help. Took 12 days!

Humanitarian issue? No really? Didn’t Canada realize that the first day?

- $3 million will be given to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)
- $1 million will go to the Red Cross

I am happy now that my tax money is helping other human beings and not going to someone else’s pocket! God be with Gaza!

Blah Blah, Palestine, They said what?, Whatever!

This morning, my mom tried to call her mother in Lebanon that live in the Palestenian refugee camp in Beirut, Burj Al-Barajni, and sisters in Southern Beirut near the Shi’a area that Israel bombed two years ago. My mom spent 3 or 4 hours constantly calling. In the last few times that she tried, all she got was someone else answering. It was someone answering her back in HEBREW!

Why is Israel now tapping the phones to Lebanon? What is their REAL PLAN!?

Angry, They said what?, Whatever!

Last night, I went to the God awful site called Arablounge again. Why? You can say I was so bored and I was just browsing. I was barely on it for 5 minutes, and this guy from Mississauga popped up to chat.

The conversation was normal, but then he started saying that it sucks being alone. I said “yah.” And then he said, “there are no single women on this site, they are all divorced and old. Most of them are liars.” I said “aha?” Then he said, “do you want to meet to get coffee?” I said, “no. I don’t know you and we don’t even live in the same city.”

He said that is fine. He then said, “well, I will be moving to Lebanon soon, and I want to get married before then.” I said, “ok?” He said, “you want to go to Lebanon?” I said, “no. I live here.” He said, “why don’t you want to live in Beirut?” I said, “well, because I am Canadian. And why do I want to live in Lebanon? I am Palestinian, and all my family is there and I know how they are treated. 60 years and they are not allowed to work or have any rights!”

He then said, “so what? I am Lebanese and Shi’a. I will only marry a Palestinian. Shi’as treat Palestinians differently and you will eventually become Lebanese too. ” I then said, “well, I don’t want to marry a Lebanese or Shi’a.” He said, “what? Why? What’s wrong? Why are you RACIST and PREJUDICE?”

I was like, “wow wow wow.” I then told him off. I said, “I do not want to marry a Lebanese or Shi’a. I have nothing against them at all. But it’s my choice. I want my kids to be Palestinians and Sunni! So? I am not racist if I have a choice!” He then said, “So? They will be Canadian anyways.” I said, “you do not understand. Plus, why am I racist if I have a choice? You guys are so picky. You want a girl who is blond, skinny, long hair or blue or green eyed, blah blah. Why is it ok for you to have a choice, and I can’t?”

He then paused a bit, and then said, “well, I guess this won’t work out.” I told him, “at least I am honest with you and upfront. Remember, we humans have a choice!” He said, “ok. Good night.”

Holy crap, I was called racist because I had a choice? What’s wrong with this picture?

Angry, Ranting as usual!, They said what?, Whatever!

I am not sure why in the world people think you hate them because you disagree with them. There is nothing wrong with disagreeing. There is nothing wrong with giving your point of view instead, but in a constructive and non-insulting manner. It doesn’t make you stubborn, but open to new ideas and different thoughts.

I have no reason to agree with you all the time. Really, I don’t have to. Most of the time I probably won’t. Why? Because I am a different person. I have different thoughts and perceive life in a different way. Since I don’t agree with you, does not mean I will not listen to you, but I have every reason to reply back. I have every right to say what I feel should be said to correct you, or to tell my side of the story.

That’s why we are individual people. Can you imagine if we all agreed on the same things all the time? My God! The Utopian life! Too bad, reality is not like that, so learn to accept my point of view, and LISTEN!

Advice, Blah Blah, They said what?, Whatever!

I was watching TV the other day, and I saw these Rahma (Mercy) commercials on UAE channels. They pretty much portray how rich successful Arabs treat their workers and maids.

I wondered why these people were treated so badly and accepted it. Were they paying them too much and made them feel guilty for it? I didn’t know till last week when I saw a Facebook status comment from a girl I know who went to UAE. I am copying and pasting what wrote to her friend, “am really liking it here, it has changed so much, but definitely life is easier here … it costs 200 dollars to have a live in maid heheh but dining and entertaining is more expensive here than states. rent here is like NY, but most companies pay ur accommodation and they are tons of benefits ..”

What striked me was the cost for a maid that lives in the same house? $200? I am hoping to God that is a week. Can you imagine that being a month? Or even worse, a year? And the world complains about child labor and paying dirt to nothing wages to factory workers in 3rd world countries. Yet, Arabs, in one the richest oil countries in the world, with more money than they know what to do with, is paying that much? They are doing the same crap like everyone else. I was stunned, and thought no way that is true.

Moreover, my mom’s friend was talking about her daughter who moved to UAE, and she was here to give birth (typical). She was telling my mom that no worries about the baby and her daughter can go back to work right away. Why? Because she has a maid. I was like jeez, a girl who barely worked at Dairy Queen here and had to help out her family, went to UAE and got her dream come true – a maid!

I would never on earth have a maid, or someone doing the work I am supposed to do, and one that lives with you. Never! I would never under pay or undermine anyone for their efforts. I know how it feels, can you imagine them?

So you wonder why they have such commercials? Because it seems to be the trend! Disgusting!
