FAQ

1. Why did you choose the word “Rebellious” in your name?

It has an angry tone to it. I like it and I felt like using it. Got a problem with that?

2. You always use Christian references and have a very western mentality, why is that?

I lived in the deep south of the United States and I grew up there for 5 years. I use references to all religions and I have a very western mentality at times because I have lived in these lands for over 16 years. I try to be more broad and use references to all cultures and religions because the issues I talk about are not only Arabic and Muslim, and most of my visitors are not Arabs and Muslims.

3. Do you want us to call you Rebellious Arab Girl or Mona?

Mona is fine, and yes, it is my real name and I like it because it is international and simple to pronounce.

4. You have very negative view points of being an Arab and represent us badly, why is that?

I am only speaking the truth of my experience and my opinions of any cultural issue that I go through as being an Arab girl. I don’t have a problem using negative connotations about a group of people or anyone. They do the same to me, so why should I be quiet and let others boost in their opinions and think they are God of be Gods of the cultural representation of Arabs.

5. You always delete comments of visitors that don’t agree with you, that is very closed minded of you.

No, I only delete comments that are directly insulting me. When a person calls me a bitch, etc, then I will delete it. I never go to any person’s blog to insult them when I disagree with their opinions, that is their choice. I have no reason to argue or insult. So why should I keep comments that are directly insulting me?

As for closed mindedness, when I don’t agree with your comments is because I am an individual with my own opinions. I stand with what I believe and say in my blog, and I don’t have to agree with anyone if I don’t want to.

6. But we are trying to give you advice, why don’t you accept it?

If I wanted advice I would have asked for it.

7. You have a very heavy graphical site, why don’t you cater to all your visitors?

I can’t call my self a graphics designer if I don’t show off my graphical skills. :)

8. You mention work, and co-workers and your boss a lot, aren’t you afraid they will read your blog and get you in trouble or even fired?

They know about it and they read it. I don’t have anything to hide and they like it because it is a place to read a clarification of my opinions and actions in life. They like it because it is personal, truthful, and defines my persona.

9. What are your Political views?

I am very Liberal and I will never change.

10. When did you start your website?

On my 25th birthday, December 23rd, 2005.

11. Why did you start the blog on that day?

I wanted to give my self a present. Anything wrong with that?

12. Have you ever had blogs in the past or other personal sites out there?

Yes, I had many in the past. I have been an active blogger or personal site developer since 1997. Since I was 16, and no, I don’t have the links anymore.

13. Do you think that one day you will make blogging and the internet your full time job?

I am working on it. Dear Lord, I am working on it!
